FASTNET ROCK |
NSW |
$215,000 +GST |
n/a |
STOP PRESS: 6th Mar - A second 2009/2010 Group 1 winner for FASTNET ROCK, with 3yo colt WANTED winning the VRC Newmarket Handicap at Flemington today. FASTNET ROCK now leading 2nd Season Sire, 2nd on the 3yo Sires Table, and in the top 10 on the General Sires Table. It has been widely reported that FASTNET ROCK'S 2010 service fee is likely to be around $125,000+GST.
STOP PRESS: Jan/Feb 2009 - FASTNET ROCK yearlings sold well at the MM and NZB Yearling Sales, making NZ$1 million, $700,000, $480,000, NZ$425,000, NZ$350,000, $340,000, $330,000, NZ$320,000, $320,000 (3), $300,000 (2), NZ$290,000, $280,000, $260,000, NZ$250,000, $250,000, $235,000, $230,000, $210,000 (3), $200,000 (2), etc. ORAIA sells in-foal to FASTNET ROCK on an October cover.
- Dual winning mare by leading sire STRAVINSKY, damsire of Champion European 3yo miler in 2009, RIP VAN WINKLE (Ascot Queen Elizabeth II S., Gr.1, Goodwood Sussex S., Gr.1).

- Her dam OPTIMISTIC LASS is a Group 2 and Group 3 winner by a 'breed shaping' stallion MR PROSPECTOR.
- She sells in-foal to Australasia's hottest young sire, FASTNET ROCK (early October cover).
- ORAIA is exceptionally well priced at $215,000+GST or near offer. Subsequent to that sale, ORAIA is now a winner of 2 races, plus in the past 3 years there have been a further 6 stakes horses appear within her first generation - WAIT AND SEE (G3P in France), ROKER PARK (LRP in England), SHAWEEL (G2W in England), NIJOOM DUBAI (G3W in England), SAHARA PRINCE (LRP in India) and ALEAGUEOFTHEIROWN (LRP in Ireland). ORAIA'S family will definitely continue to improve, as within her first generation there are 2yo's, yearlings and foals coming through by leading stallions such as STREET CRY (2), GALILEO, DANSILI, HIGH CHAPARRAL, RAHY, etc, etc.
- ORAIA is located in the upper Hunter Valley and available for immediate inspection.

2009 COLT BY FASTNET ROCK |
NSW |
$220,000 +GST |
n/a |
STOP PRESS: 6th Mar - FASTNET ROCK scores his 2nd Group 1 winner with WANTED winning the Group 1 VRC Newmarket Handicap at Flemington, WANTED also became FASTNET ROCK's first Millionaire, with earnings now topping $1.19 Million!
An opportunity exists to purchase a SW mare, with a 2009 colt at foot (foaled 12 Nov 2009) by FASTNET ROCK, without doubt the HOTTEST young stallion we've seen in Australia for a number of years. This mare has been at stud for four seasons and conceived each year, producing 3 live foals to date. Her first two foals to sell as yearlings have grossed just under $300,000 at the sales.
At present FASTNET ROCK does look like being the goods, so it would be no surprise to see his fee for next season rise to $100,000 or more. A relatively young, fertile SW mare that has the ability to put very good types on the ground, with a colt at foot by him for $220,000 looks realistically priced. The mare is currently located near Scone, NSW.

RACING & BREEDING PROSPECTS |
USA |
P0 A |
n/a |
STOP PRESS: 14th Jan - stakes winning STRAVINKSY mare MISSVINSKI sells for US$400,000 at the Keeneland January Sale. MISSVINSKI had been listed for private sale with Randwick Bloodstock since May 2009, with an initial asking price of US$250,000, later reducing to US$225,000 or near offer. Over the past 8 months we had suggested to many breeders that MISSVINKSI was attractively priced. Right now, I believe we also have a number of other attractively priced young black type mares presently listed for private sale. If you are interested in seeing what we have to offer, please email or call Brett Howard - randwickbloodstock@bigpond.com or 02 4998 6488.
We currently have a number of young black type performed mares by outstanding stallions such as MORE THAN READY, RAHY, TALE OF THE CAT, SOUTHERN HALO, LEAR FAN, etc. Prices start from US$10,000. Please call (02 4998 6488) or email ( randwickbloodstock@bigpond.com ) with your price bracket and we will forward you pedigrees, race records and possibly some photos.
If you are thinking of upgrading or adding to your existing broodmare band, you could wait until the 2010 Australasian broodmare sales to compete against many other like minded Australasian breeders (if you tried to buy something in 2009, you will know how difficult, expensive or frustrating this can be) or if you are prepared to move out of your "comfort zone", you can take financial advantage of the present status quo. |
